Welcome To the CDC motorcycle forum.

Started in December of 2006 we are a motorcycle club recognized by Ducati North America as an official Ducati Club, but are not limited to Ducati ownership.
Here you can share your ride stories, tech info, racing news and general information 2 wheel related or not.

This page will focus on member introduction. Every 2 weeks I will ask a new member to give a quick intro and some pics.

I was born and raised in Central Nebraska, until my folks got divorced. I then ended up in Kansas for a couple years then in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada for 2 years during high school. When I was old enough to decide for myself where to live, I headed to my Dads in Scottsbluff Nebraska. Now that is some great dirt biking country and I did a lot of that out there. My first serious bike was a 72 Yamaha DT 250. It was built up a bit and could hang with the 400’s of the time. I used to race motox back in 72 and 73. I also had a 69 Ford Van so I ALWAYS had my bike with me. Good times.

I then ended up working on the family farm for a couple years while going to school. After that I went into Ag research in Nebraska. That’s when I got my first big bike, the 750 Honda I have now, purchased in 78 for $1000, with only 1000 miles on it. That old bike and me have been through a lot, I think it has fared better than I. While in Nebraska I got big into building customs, restorations (the old Dream I have now was one of my first) and dirt track racing. Used to run a 77 TT500 Yamaha built up. Quick enough for the 1/8 miles tracks.

So a divorce ensued, 2 kids went with the x, child support kept me in the poor house so I had to sell some sweet bikes to make ends meet. But I kept my 750 and the Dream. I took that opportunity to go back to college and get an Engineering degree at Lake State in Northern Michigan. Met my current wife while I was going to school there. Graduated tops in my class and got recruited for a job in Sanford Florida in 89. That’s how I ended up down here. From then on I’ve lived in the same house in Deltona. I also started collecting and rebuilding bikes again. No more racing, just restorations and getting my kids and wife into riding.

Must have done a good job, my one son is a mechanic at a BMW shop in NE, my other son owns 2 bikes, my wife owns 3 bikes. Everyone rides. I have several and most of you have seen the pics. Just check my sig line for a list. My truck rarely leaves the garage. If I need to do anything I always use one of my bikes if possible. While I am done racing I do enjoy some track time, I just don’t have a good track bike…and I wish there was a closer track. I continue to rebuild and restore bikes (and now an old MG car).  My wife thinks I’m obsessed, I say at least it keeps me out of the bars. I’ve been riding bikes since I was 8 years old, 44 years now. It’s been great and I don’t see myself stopping for any reason. I know I dread the day when I get so old I can’t kick start my Norton, but I won’t worry about that now.

It’s hard to sum up ones life in a few paragraphs. So many stories of racing, hooliganism, and traveling that are pretty exciting but I’ll just have to write a book I guess.

can't attach a pic to a personal mail, just insert I guess. give me an email and i'll send the pic.
