I say end of Nov. Let's get a head count. I know there was a lot of first timers that are hooked now. Nick set it up.

We were discussing it. We all agreed that Saturday is a better day. We have to work around the track's schedule. Lets wait for Nick and Dits to work out the details.

There's a novice day 11/29 that still has openings (not sure how many) that I'm going to try to go to. Anyone interested?

Despite going slow as hell I had a fun time, found a couple people to follow around.  Had a close call with the guy that was on the black gsx-r, I was trying to pass someone on the outside of 12 right as he was trying to pass me on the outside.  Couldn't have been 1/4" between us lol.

Well you were not the only one that had a close call with this guy. In the second session, this guy tryed to come around me on the straight before T13. I was about 3-4 feet from the left side of the track when he decided to come through. He hit me from behind and on the left side at around 70 mph. All I heard was metal and plastic grinding. My bike went sideways and I somehow managed to save it. At first I was pissed but I eventually got over it! Luckily for him, I was riding my "red" Gixxer when this happened. I bought this bike used and it already had some scratches on the left side. If I would have been on the Duc, I definatley would have swung on this guy in the pits. That incident kept me on the Gixxer the rest of the day, besides half a session.
Anyway, I had a great time!! Thanks to Nick for getting me in at the last minute!! I learned alot and got to meet a few of you!! I'm down for the next track day!!

... I look forward to future track days, and learning less "creative" lines through the corners (sorry Dits)

Don't apologize.  That's why I was there, to help out.  Next time you're up, we'll go through some more stuff.  Before long, you'll be slappin' down some bad-ass times.   thumbsup

By the end of the day I was running consistant 1:45's. Is that a respectible time for a first timer?? dontknow I'm looking for some positive reinforcement here, so help a brother out!! Grin
I know that I could shave off 5- 8 seconds fairly easily with some more track time. After that, I would imagine shaving time off woul be alot harder. Each session my times would drop 2-3 seconds. I know I lost alot of time on the straight after T 2, I would push it a little further each time but I was no where close to where I need to be and can be safely. I know I could be alot faster through turn 4-5 also. My goal for next time is high 1:30's. I am 100% confident that I can acheive those #'s. What do you guys think?? Am I wishfull thinking or what??

IMHO this is how I would break out lap times and were you belong.

>1:40 Novice
1:32-1:40 Intermediate
< 1:31  Expert.

I assume that's when you're doing those times consistently. I had some good laps, but I consistent in the 40s, with feedback from others I'm sure I can make it to Intermediate after a few more trackdays.

Dits was telling me to go into the intermidiate but I was skeptical. After a few sessions I was passing guys like it was nothing and they were slowing me down. Then I hear on the speaker about all the novice to come in for a meeting. "YOU FUCKERS HAVE TO STOP PASSING ON THE INSIDE". That was it for me and I moved to Intermidiate, I thought I was going to be slow, but after lunch the Hyper felt very good and I was ripping around and had no problem passing on the turns. My favorite turns to pass was 1,6,13 I was passing guys with no problem. I was told that I was sliding around the turns but I didnt feel it, either way, the bike felt right that day and I'm glad I was able to enjoy her. My best track day yet. My only problem was that my bike doesnt lean anymore, I scrapped the Hell out of my pegs, I think its time for rear sets. And a lap timer, but I think I'm around 1:35-1:37.
